In 2026, eSett has committed to science-based climate targets approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This step aligns eSett’s climate work with the latest science and supports global efforts to limit warming to 1.5°C.

Following the approval, eSett was added to the SBTi Target Dashboard, which lists companies with validated science-based targets. The Science Based Targets initiative is a global organisation that helps companies define how quickly and how much they must reduce greenhouse gas emissions in line with the Paris Agreement.

eSett’s targets were validated by SBTi in May 2026. With this approval, eSett commits to:

  • Maintaining zero direct emissions (scope 1) through 2032
  • Reducing energy-related emissions (scope 2) by 50.4% by 2032 (from a 2023 base year)
  • Measuring and reducing value chain emissions (scope 3)

These targets provide a clear framework for how eSett will continue to reduce its environmental impact. eSett already operates with zero direct and energy-related emissions, and maintaining this level requires continued focus in future decisions. The remaining emissions come from the value chain through purchased services, business travel, and supplier activities. This makes collaboration with partners and continuous development of internal practices play an important role in further reducing our environmental impact.

The SBTi commitment marks an important milestone in eSett’s sustainability work. eSett will continue to calculate and report our carbon footprint annually, develop our practices and take responsibility for reducing our environmental impact in line with our targets.
