New go-live date for Nordic Imbalance Settlement agreed
The Nordic Imbalance Settlement will be launched on Monday 1st of May 2017. The commissioning will be done simultaneously in all three countries.
– Since the postponement was announced in June 2016, we have improved and stabilized the settlement system. With the new project plan we will be able to go live with a product that has all the necessary features and sufficient performance to ensure a smooth balance settlement for all involved parties, says Minnakaisa Ahonen, CEO of eSett.
– Before the new go-live date was decided upon we also consulted the NBS reference group and have received valuable input that have been included in the plan, Minnakaisa concluded.
The system vendor is strongly committed to the new time plan and will do their outmost to deliver a fully functioning system.
– We confirm that we will use our best endeavors to deliver the settlement solution in accordance with the agreed project plan, says Jan Jaroš, CEO of Unicorn Systems.
eSett would like to thank the market participants for their co-operation during the previous common testing phases. eSett and the Transmission System Operators urge the market participants to actively join all planned testing activities to ensure successful commissioning in May.

* The new go-live date is a public holiday in all three countries but due to the parallel settlement prior to go-live all systems should already be up and running.
About Nordic Imbalance Settlement
The Finnish, Norwegian and Swedish Transmission System Operators (TSOs) Fingrid, Statnett and Svenska kraftnät have decided to implement a common imbalance settlement service for the Nordic electricity market. For this purpose, the TSOs have developed a new harmonized imbalance settlement model and founded the jointly owned service company eSett Oy to run the common imbalance settlement.
